I'm looking for a way to convert the URL for a webpage into an RSS URL. Feedburber's home page advertises, "Create a RSS feed or email alert for any webpage". Yet when I enter the URL for a website I don't see any RSS URL. Am I missing something?
what happens when you enter a URL into feedbeater?
it should show you a list of options (email, RSS, customize) if you pick RSS it will direct you to the RSS feed of the URL you chose.
for example, if you typed in cnn.com you would see this as the RSS feed destination: http://www.diffbot.com/api/rss/cnn.com
perhaps there is a bug that we need to fix, could you give me more information about what URL you are typing and what type of browser you are using?
thanks for the feedback, hopefully we can fix this for you
This is the URL I'm inputting: http://www.aroundindy.com/wordsearch.php?keyword=danville&Submit=Go
...and this is the RSS URL the system is generating: http://www.diffbot.com/api/rss/http://www.aroundindy.com/wordsearch.php?keyword=danville&Submit=Go
That's correct, that URL: http://www.diffbot.com/api/rss/http://www.aroundindy.com/wordsearch.php?keyword=danville&Submit=Go
is the RSS URL. Try putting that URL into the RSS reader that you use (such as Google Reader) and let us know if you have any problems with it.
Alternatively, if you don't want to deal with RSS at all and just want to follow webpages without any hassle, I'd recommend our Diffbot Reader product. It lets you just follow your webpages directly.
I think it's going to work. I don't know why, but when I tried loading it before, it just displayed "Diffbot at your service". This was when I loaded it into Yahoo! Pipes. Maybe I somehow copied the wrong URL. I really don't know what happened. Anyway, thanks for your help.
it seems the url to your site is frequently down. (see http://danville-indiana.us/category/events/ )
thanks.
